Idiosyncratic Icosahedron meets Mouse

This experiment uses the flatshading method I describe in the tutorial in the notes section. And some springs. The HD version is nicer.

The icosahedron (which ends up being a buckyball, really) is created in code, using only the minimum amount of vertices. Getting the winding right was not nice.

And this version shows off how efficient this method is, with even more spikes:
