World

An interactive globe with physically correct atmosphere rendering.

The atmosphere light scattering calculations are based on Sean O’Neill’s classic, with some fragment-space tweaks. The Parallax shader for the clouds is an in-house development, as are the terrain normal maps, rendered from NASA depth data. Uses modern GLSL / OpenGL with the new programmable GL renderer in openFrameworks 0.8.0.

Runs @ 60 interactive frames / HD (1920x800) on a AMD Radeon HD 6750M GPU.

Made with openFrameworks.
